Hotel Artemide
Via Nazionale 22, Central Station, 00184 Rome, Italy
What to expect
Hotel Artemide is a polished, centrally located Roman hotel in a historic building, combining elegant common areas with modern guest facilities. Guests consistently praise the exceptionally helpful staff, generous breakfast and convenient access to major sights, shops and public transport. The overall atmosphere is comfortable and service-oriented, making it a strong base for sightseeing, business trips and travelers who value attentive hospitality.
Rooms are generally described as clean, comfortable and well equipped, with air conditioning, heating, soundproofing and complimentary minibar offerings in many room categories. However, several guests found the rooms compact, and some families had difficulty moving around or storing luggage. A few bathrooms were described as dingy or affected by hair and limescale, while isolated guests reported stained or unusual-smelling bedding.
The breakfast buffet is a major strength, with broad choice and consistently enthusiastic feedback, though it may cost extra depending on the booking. The spa offers a sauna, steam room, hot tub and treatments, with reservations, fees and age restrictions. A rooftop restaurant and bar provide views and dining, while the gym, Wi-Fi, room service, daily housekeeping, concierge and luggage storage add practical convenience.
Check-in begins in the afternoon and the front desk operates around the clock, with guests generally describing arrival and staff assistance positively. Airport and station transfers can be arranged for a surcharge, while parking is limited or unavailable on site. Breakfast, spa access, city tax and some transfers may add to the booking cost. Late checkout is not guaranteed when the hotel is full.
The hotel sits on Via Nazionale near Termini and the Repubblica metro, with many restaurants, shops and major Roman attractions reachable on foot or by public transport. The central setting is convenient but can expose some rooms to rooftop or early-morning service noise. It suits couples, solo travelers and sightseeing-focused guests especially well; larger families should check room space and luggage capacity carefully.
Two guests experienced similar ankle bites, but the guest could not confirm they were bedbugs. The uncertainty may concern travelers sensitive to possible insects or bedding-related hygiene.
